Water Sports on the Turquoise Coast

Scuba diving in KalkanHolidays at Kalkan rental villas offer so much to do, but the sea is the best place to be in the summer, and diving is becoming more and more popular (as are all water sports in Kalkan Turkey). The Kalkan Dive Centre, around at Kalamar Bay, is a PADI five star dive resort, and offers recreational dives and PADI courses. You can even walk from the villa to the Kalamar Beach Club, home of the Kalkan dive centre. There are also several dive centres a half hour's drive away in Kas; it's an extremely popular pastime in this area of Turkey. The underwater flora and fauna are wonderful. You don't have to go far to see fabulous sites, such as the Blue Cave near Kaputas

Diver kitted out ready for diveThe diving along the Turquoise Coast is glorious and takes place on a number of wrecks, spectacular reefs, rocky coves, beautiful scenery and places of historical interest, such as the sunken city near Kekova. Kas, Kekova and Kalkan offer exciting dives, beautiful nature and crystal clear waters.

Some of the best dive sites include: Flying Fish, Assi Island, Lighthouse Reef, Ottoman Wreck, Mavi Wreck & Paradise Reef and Blue Hole. The marine life in the area includes Barracuda, Stingrays, Sea-Turtles, rare Snails, Dorades, Jackfish, Soldier fish, Octopuses, Moray-Eels, Trumpet fish, many kinds of Brasses, huge Groupers of several kinds and many more amazing underwater life forms. Some of the Kas dive centres include:  Apollo, & Barakuda Queen

Other water sports in Kalkan are jet skiing, ringo riding, water skiing, and snorkelling. For the less adventurous there's a water trampoline at the dive centre, and kayaks to hire.
