The coast earns its name because as the sun sets, its waters are the clearest turquoise shade you’ve ever seen. Fethiye has a myriad of things to see and do. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, which prevails along this coastline, you can be leisurely sipping your Turkish tea or Turkish coffee in the town and glance up and see white snow and mist on the mountains in the distance. Fethiye has everything for a great day out, with a wealth of historical and cultural sights and artefacts - beautiful Turkish carpets and traditional goods are in abundance here. Shop in the old bazaar with narrow shady streets, tiny squares and delightful cafes. Visit the Fish Market where you choose from an array of fresh fish or seafood and one of the many restaurants there will cook it for you. The large marina at Fethiye offers day cruises to visit the islands, take you snorkelling, or out to sea fishing. Outstanding beaches such as Kaputas and Oludeniz with every kind of water sport, and hidden coves are nearby, framed by the pine-clad Taurus Mountains - so much to see and do when you rent a holiday villa in Kalkan, Turkey.
