Situated on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey, Kaş is nestled beneath the foothills of the impressive Taurus Mountains. Kaş is 25km from Kalkan and an easy place to get to. It was originally a picturesque fishing village but has since grown into an upmarket resort, its main attraction being its unspoilt nature but still with a lovely harbour and an authenticity of its own. Take a boat trip from the marina to open up a whole new realm of places to see. There are pebble and sandy beaches within easy travelling distance, and ancient tombs and an amphitheatre to explore. The restaurants serve both Turkish and international food and can be found amongst the many small shops where you can lose your inhibitions and barter to your heart's content.

Filled with narrow cobbled streets, tombs dotted throughout the town, a 1st century BC amphitheatre, an old water cistern accessed through Smiley's Restaurant that is over 2000 years old and well worth a visit, platforms above the sea for relaxing, art galleries, restaurants and rooftop bars, and a lively marina, Kaş can truly be said to have something for everyone.
From Kaş you can also visit the Greek island of Meis (Kastelorizo ) situated 20 minutes by ferry from the harbourfront, it's a great day out.
If you would like to see a totally different world go diving. Kaş has an excellent dive centre for both beginners and more experienced divers. Be amazed at the shoals of large fish together with multicoloured smaller species that you can admire amongst the reefs.
